Dashboard

To access the vacuum's interface and controls without being restricted to the default Home Assistant device page, the integration's entities should be added to a Lovelace dashboard. There are several core and community-developed custom cards available for building a comprehensive dashboard interface.

Below is a list of supported cards, each with dedicated setup examples and templates:

  • Dreame Vacuum Card Recommended: A complete, purpose-built app replacement with an interactive map editor, grouped settings, and zero YAML configuration.
  • Xiaomi Vacuum Map Card: A highly customizable map card supporting advanced features like room and zone cleaning templates.
  • Vacuum Card: A minimalist, clean card that focuses on displaying current stats, consumable states, and quick action shortcuts.
  • Valetudo Map Card: A specialized map rendering card originally designed for Valetudo but fully compatible via the integration's Map Data camera entity.
  • Xiaomi Vacuum Card: A custom card focused on providing vacuum controls and state information without a map display.
  • Vacuum Cleaner Card: An actively maintained, highly customizable control card with a GUI editor.
  • Picture Entity Card: A standard card used for displaying live map camera feeds in the dashboard.
  • Custom Card Templates: Examples and templates for advanced dashboard configurations using multiple custom cards.

Resource Optimization

To significantly reduce CPU and memory consumption without losing map support, backend map rendering can be entirely offloaded to the frontend. By using either the Dreame Vacuum Card or the Valetudo Map Card, the map is rendered directly in the browser rather than by the Home Assistant server.

To configure this zero-resource setup:

  1. Navigate to the device page for the device in Home Assistant.
  2. Scroll down to the Configuration section and click the link at the bottom to reveal hidden/disabled entities.
  3. Locate and click on the Current Map Data (camera.map_data) entity.
  4. Click the Settings () icon in the top right corner to open the entity settings.
  5. Toggle the entity to enabled and save the changes. The integration will automatically reload.
  6. After the reload is complete, repeat the process to disable all other map camera entities.

This completely disables backend rendering while preserving all map functionality and interactive features on the dashboard.
